Delivering keynote speech at the event Prime Minister of Georgia, Co-Chairman Nika Gilauri welcomed Azerbaijani delegation, noted that the Georgian-Azerbaijani relations were very important from a strategic viewpoint.

”In terms of trade for each other, we are countries that invest great capitals. Trade turnover between the two countries in recent years has increased by 60% and continues to grow every year. Our friendly relations are not only at the level of presidents and prime ministers, but also at the level of nations”.

Gilauri added that Azerbaijan was one of the countries which invested the most capital in Georgia. The largest tax paid to the budget of Georgia by Azerbaijani companies: “We jointly signed the regional and historical projects, are building a bridge between Europe and Asia. As an example we may say such projects as Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars”.

Co-Chairman of the Azerbaijani side, Prime Minister Artur Rasizade noted that the projects jointly implemented by Georgia and Azerbaijan, should be an example for others: “Georgia-Azerbaijan cooperation is at a very high level. Azerbaijan has an intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation with many countries, but only the commission established in Georgia, is headed by the prime ministers. Georgia is a fraternal country for us. We must deepen bilateral relations due to current ongoing global processes. We must be strong, because only by this way we can achieve our goals”.

Following the meeting, a protocol was signed on outcomes of the meeting. Prime Ministers held a press conference for journalists.
