Number of bank branches reaches 646 in Azerbaijan

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev â€“ APA-Economics. As of April 1, 2011, total number of Azerbaijan-based credit organizations made 150. 106 of them are non-banking credit organizations.

According to Central Bank of Azerbaijan, one of 44 banks is state, 43 are â€“ private banks. As at end of the period of report, 22 banks operated in Azerbaijan by the participation of foreign capital.

Foreign capital makes 50-100% part of authorized capital of 7 banks, below 50% part in 13 banks. Number of local branches of foreign banks makes 2 units.

CBA says number of local banks of Azerbaijan-based banks reached 646. 38 of them belong to state, 608 to private banks. Number of banks having local branches is 39, bank departments â€“ 123. Number of structures of banks in abroad makes 8 units. 5 of them are representations, 2 â€“ subsidiary banks and others are branches.
