Cabinet meeting held under chairmanship of Azerbaijani President - UPDATED
Saying that the industrial production rose by 0,3% during the first 3 months of the year, President Ilham Aliyev noted the 9.8 percent growth in non-oil industry, which is an important factor in the development industry and added that gas production would increase in the near future as well. The President noted that the country’s foreign exchange reserves rose to 34.7 billion dollars and would continue to grow until the end of this year: “All this is the result of investments in non-oil sector, the conditions created for entrepreneurs. And it is the indicator of economic and financial power of our countryâ€. According to President, in general, all assignments are made in the economic sphere, the tasks in social sphere were implemented.
President Aliyev said that information-communication sector developed very dynamically, as well as program on establishment of artificial satellite was being carried out in our country. Touching upon the development of military industrial potential, Aliyev said that different modern military industrial products were produced in our republic.
While speaking about Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the head of state said that the position of our country was unique: “Azerbaijan’s position in the negotiations on the conflict is based on the international law and territorial integrity of our country must be restored without any conditionsâ€.
Thereafter, Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov, Chairman of State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev, Chairman of State Social Protection Fund Salim Muslumov and Chief of State Migration Service Arzu Rahimov gave information about their activities during the first quarter of the year.
At the end of the meeting, President Aliyev said that price rise of oil in world market might increase inflation risks, he noted the importance of strengthening of appropriate measures in this direction. He noted that strengthening of struggle against corruption and bribery gave its results and was appreciated by the people.
President Aliyev said that public order was maintained perfectly, criminogenic situation was good and security measures were strong in the country.
