Chamber of Auditors of Azerbaijan reveals serious corruption cases in audit activities

According to APA-ECONOMICS, the chamber leadership has brought serious accusations against the persons conducting audit in municipalities.

Chamberâ€™s spokesman Maarif Abbasov spoke about â€œquality of audit in municipalitiesâ€ and noted that there were shortcomings in this sphere: â€œAccording to observations, some group of auditors conduct the audit in municipalities. Some auditors approach their work irresponsiblyâ€.

According to him, one of the violations: an auditor sign contract with municipality to conduct audit on its activity in any period. After audit, another auditor conducts audit and comes to a different conclusion.

He says criminal case has been launched on audit control conducted at Khatai municipality, some years ago: â€œThe chamber worries about itâ€.

He called the auditors to obey rules of professional ethics.
