Azerbaijan Financial Monitoring Service may be member of Egmont Group

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. Next plenary meeting of Egmont Group is planned to be held in July, 2011, According to Azerbaijan Financial Monitoring Service under the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, decision on becoming of AFMS as a member of Egmont Group is expected to be adopted at the meeting.

Thus, the Legal Sub-working Group of Egmont Group has assessed the AFMSâ€™s membership to the group, positively. According to existing procedures, decision on membership to the Group is adopted at the plenary meeting of organization.

Note that, Azerbaijanâ€™s achievement in te sphere of combating against legalization of criminally obtained funds or other property and the financing of terrorism, AFMSâ€™s activity were discussed at the Legal Sub-working groupâ€™s meeting.

Egmont Group has been in operation since 1995.
