Azerbaijan sees decline in inoperative resources

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. As of September 1, 2010, the correspondent accounts of Azerbaijan-based banks made AZN 750.8 mln, down AZN 93.8 mln or 11.1% compared with the beginning of the year. CBA says the cash fund decreased by AZN 19.6 mln or 4.2% to AZN 446.6 mln.

Note that the correspondent accounts and cash funds are inoperative resources because of they don’t make income. The main purpose of keeping of them is to ensure the liquidity. Determining of optimal level of these resources is conducted by the sectors on management of banks’ liquidity. As the result, the share of them in total assets makes 10%.

At the same time the other assets increased by AZN 150.8 mln or 15.8% to AZN 1.106 bln.
