Azerbaijani Parliament starts discussion of state budget for 2011 on level of committees

According to APA-Economics, the chairman of the Milli Majlis science and education committee Shamsaddin Hajiyev noted that the GDP expected in Azerbaijan is more than in Georgia and Armenia. The education spending in budget is planned to AZN 1 338.163 mln.

Azerbaijan Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev stressed that the expenditures for culture from state budget rose by 2.8 times in past 4 years. Expenditures for culture is planned to be increased by 13% next year.

Chairman of the Milli Majlis standing commission for regional issues Arif Rahimzadeh offered to increase the expenditures for municipalities.

head of the Social Expenditures Department of the Ministry of Finance, Khagani Rzayev has stated that in 2011 social expenditures (AZN 4.234 bn) should make up 33.3% of total expenditures of the budget (AZN 12.748 bn) and overall funding of targeted programs will be 42.3% of expenditures or AZN s5.39 bn.

"At that, social spending will grow by 8.8% against growth of overall costs of 3.9% and revenues of 4.8%,â€ Rzayev said.
