Azerbaijanâ€™s foreign trade turnover rises by 16 times in past 15 years

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijanâ€™s import-export operations with foreign countries during past 15 years totaled $134 582.7 million, including exports of $43 433.8 million and imports of $91 418.9 million, said the State Statistical Committee.

According to Committee, the trade turnover increased by 16 times to $20 826.9 mln in 2009, while it was $1 304.9 mln in 1995, including import rose by 9.2 times to$6.127 bln, export by 23.1 times to $ 14 699.9 mln. The positive balance of trade turnover made $8 572.9 mln in 2009, while it was $30.5 mln negative balance.

The highest volume of trade turnover was observed in 2008 as $ 54 925.5 mln, up by 4.7 times compared with 2007.

Note that Azerbaijanâ€™s foreign trade turnover during January-July, 2010, made $ 15 516.2 mln, including export was $ 12 008.5 mln, import - $ 3 507.7 mln.
