Insurance premium collection reaches AZN 53.7 million in Azerbaijan in January-April

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijan-based insurers earned AZN 53.72 million in premiums during January-April.

The Ministry of Finance said insurers paid AZN 14.52 million for insurance claims, during the same period.

Premiums from life insurance stood at AZN 0.508 mln, premiums from non-life insurance at AZN 43.232 million and premiums from compulsory insurance at AZN 9.989 million.

Insurance claims were AZN 0.086 mln on the life insurance, AZN 11.874 mln on the non-life insurance, AZN 2.555 mln on compulsory insurance.

Premiums most came from health insurance (AZN 11.005 mln), motor insurance (AZN 9.022 mln) and aircraft insurance (AZN 7.452 mln).

Payment most went to motor insurance (AZN 4.628 mln), health insurance (AZN 5.170 mln) and military servicemen compulsory insurance (AZN 2.126 mln).

There are 27 insurance companies in Azerbaijan.
