Azerbaijan sees 0.4% inflation in October

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Prices of consumer goods and services increased by 0.4% on month in October, said Azerbaijan’s State Statistical Committee.

According to the statistics, the prices are 1.7% higher during January-October as against the same period a year ago.

prices of foodstuff increased by 0.2%, non-foods by 0.7% and services by 0.3% in October.

As Against a year ago, prices of foodstuffs fell by 0.4%, non-foods by 4.3% while prices of services increased by 6.4% during January-September.

The government predicts single-digit inflation in the face of global financial crisis. However, some experts claim the country might see deflation at the year-end after liquidity wrung out in the trade and service sectors.
