Over 730 kg of expired food found in retail outlets, Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-ECONOMICS. Azerbaijanâ€™s State Service for Consumer Market Control has held a regular monitoring of food products sold in stores.

During the monitoring, expired food products including confectionery, sausages, oil, baby food, beers, milk and dairy products, soft drinks, and other products weighing over 730 kg were found in several stores. The expired products were withdrawn from sale and destroyed.

For wrongdoing, several individuals were administratively disciplined.

Since May 17, 2009, for violation of consumer rights 57 legal entities have been fined 215 100 manats, and 585 individuals 874 300 manats.
