World Customs Organization to open its first regional office in Azerbaijan

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-ECONOMICS. Azerbaijanâ€™s State Customs Committee and the World Customs Organization have signed a memorandum of understanding on the opening of the WCOâ€™s first regional office for capacity building in Baku.

The document was signed by Aydin Aliyev, Chairman of the State Customs Committee, and Vitaly Mikeladze, WCO Officer in the European Region.

According to him, the decision to open an office for the capacity building was taken at the 113th-114th session of the Customs Cooperation Council held in Brussels on June 25-27.

This will be the WCOâ€™s first regional office for capacity building in Europe.
