Azerbaijan sees three-fold drop in foreign trade

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover with 132 nations during January-September totalled $14.4 billion, down three-fold from a year ago.

Exports made $10 billion (69.6%) and imports of $4.4 billion (30.4%), said the State Statistical Committee.

The trade surplus was $5.6 billion.
As compared to a year ago, exports dropped by nearly four-fold, imports 11.5-fold and surplus 6-fold.

The country did 52.9% of the trade with Europe, 32.4% with Asia, 13.5% with Americas, 1.1% with Africa and 0.1% with Oceania.

The country’s main trade partners in imports and exports included Italy (18%), the United States (9.4%), Russia (9.4%), France (6.9%), Israel (5.7%), Turkey (5.2%), Taiwan (3.8%), Germany (3.5%), Canada (3.1%), Ukraine (2.9%), United Kingdom ( 2.8%), China (2.8%) and others (26.5%).
