IMF expects inflation to grow in Azerbaijan next year

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-ECONOMICS. Azerbaijan is expected to see 2% inflation rate at this yearend, said Koba Gvenetadze, the outgoing IMF resident representative in Azerbaijan.

According to the Regional Economic Outlook Update, inflation rate will grow to 5% in 2010.

Azerbaijan saw double-digit inflation over the past several years. Inflation reached 20.8% in 2008.

According to the official statistics, prices of consumer goods and services increased by 2% during the past eight months of 2009.
