IMF Article IV consultation mission to visit Azerbaijan in February

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-Economics. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has postponed a team travel on mission to Azerbaijan until February 2010 said IMF representative in Azerbaijan Koba Gvenetadze.

The mission to conduct the discussions for the annual Article IV consultations had initially been set to visit Azerbaijan in June but the date was later rescheduled to September.

Koba Gvenetadze attributed the reason of postponement to the fact that IMF officer Valeria Fichera who was head of the delegation has been appointed as a resident representative to Senegal.

The Article IV consultation usually includes review of macroeconomic developments over the previous year and discussion with the authorities on the short- and medium-term economic outlook and provision of recommendations and suggestions.
