Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. As of October 1, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan’s official foreign exchange reserves stood at US$5 103.6 million, down 6.2% or $335 million from a year ago.

According to statistics, foreign exchange reserves diminished by 16.8% or $1 033.4 million during January-September and 2% or AZN 102.4 million in September alone, said the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

There are several factors which could probably erode assets.

The central bank loosened monetary policy and increased market intervention by pouring foreign currencies into the market.

Against the backdrop of currency devaluation in neighbouring Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Ukraine and other countries amid the global financial crisis, Azerbaijan managed to keep up the home currency.

The decrease in foreign exchange reserves has been common for many central banks across the world.

Cədvəldən göründüyü kimi, bu il valyuta ehtiyatlarının dinamikasında əhəmiyyətli dəyişkənlik müşahidə olunub ki, bu da dünya maliyyə və iqtisadi böhranla əlaqəlidir. Çünki dünya maliyyə bazarlarında hələ də qüvvədə olan qeyri-müəyyənlik Azərbaycanın rəsmi valyuta ehtiyatlarının sabit artım dinamikasının formalaşmasına imkan vermir.
