Azerbaijan submits corporate governance report to World Bank

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-ECONOMICS. Rufat Aslanli, Chairman of Azerbaijanâ€™s State Committee on Securities has met with the World Bank’s Private Sector Development Specialist David Robinette.

The meeting was aimed at discussing the Report on the Observance of Standards and Codes (ROSC) as part of the Corporate Governance Practices Assessment in Azerbaijan, and identifying opportunities for cooperation in developing a joint plan of action in this area, said the Committee.

David Robinette noted that ROSC was prepared as part of the IFC’s Global Corporate Governance Forum.

Rufat Aslanli underscored the importance of ROSC report in creating a culture of corporate governance in Azerbaijan.

He presented suggestions and offers on the report to the World Bankâ€™s and added that the SCS is ready to provide comprehensive assistance to address issues reflected in the report.
