Economic Research Center: Azerbaijan logs over 1% inflation in August

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Consumer Price Index rose by 1.09 percent in Azerbaijan, including 1.65 percent in Baku and 0.54 percent in regions during August, according to the Economic Research Centerâ€™s report based on the Alternative Inflation Methodology Development Project.

The report is based on surveys on goods and services in 11 regions of the country.

Prices of non-foods and services dropped but prices of foodstuffs increased by 2.27 percent.

According to statistics, the consumer prices change was 1.96% deflation for January-August and 3.09% deflation as against July 2008.
