CIS countries sign several documents on customs cooperation

As part of today’s meeting of the Council of Heads of Customs Services of the CIS Countries in Gabala, Azerbaijan and Belarus have signed a protoco on the implementation of the 5 November 2004 agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs operations between Azerbaijan and Belarus.

In addition, Moldova and Belarus signed a protocol on rules of the relationship of customs bodies of the two countries in compiling statistical data.

Moldovan Customs Service and Kazakh Ministry of Finance signed a protocol on exchange of data on goods trade.

The 49th meeting of the Council of Heads of Customs Services of CIS countries kicked off in Gabala, Azerbaijan on June 11.

The meeting is attended by senior officials from customs services of 9 countries (Azerbaijan, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan).

The meeting will discuss a number of pressing issues on the customs activities including a report by the Secretary of the Council on the implementation of decisions taken at the 48th meeting, the exchange of information on preliminary data of the customs services of Moldova and Ukraine, the inventory of the international legal framework of CIS member states, the plan for implementation of a Concepts for cadre training at the Russian Academy of Customs until 2011, etc.
