Azerbaijan posts $1.72 billion trade surplus

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover with 1117 nations during January-April totaled $5.4 billion, including exports of $3.54 billion (66.1%) and imports of $1.82 billion (33.9%), said the State Statistical Committee.
The trade surplus was $1.72 billion.

As against the same period last year, foreign trade turnover rose by 92.6% in real terms and 95.1% in comparative prices.

Azerbaijan carried out 44.8% of the trade with the European Union, 16.6% with the CIS countries and 38.6% with other countries.

The country did 57.7% of the trade with Europe, 28.6% with Asia, 13.1% with Americas, 0.5% with Africa and 0.1% with Oceania.

The country’s main trade partners in imports and exports (80.6%) included Italy, the United States, Russia, France, Israel, Turkey, Germany, Ukraine, Georgia, the United Kingdom, Canada, Indonesia, South Korea, and China.
