Two banks improve financial performance in April

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. 39% of 46 Azerbaijan-based commercial banks posted a profit in January-April while 37 banks had a profit in January-March, said the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

According to the statistics, total profit by 39 banks amounted to AZN 112.63 million, down 5.62% from the same period a year ago.

37 banks posted a profit in January-April 2008.

7 banks which had a loss for January-April posted a total loss of AZN 7.77 million, down AZN 570 000 from a year ago.

The total profit of all banks which made a loss and a profit declined by AZN 5.05 million to AZN 104.86 million in January-April.
