Azerbaijan takes over presidency of IDB Board of Governors

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. The 34th meeting of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) was held in Ashgabat, bringing together senior officials from 56 countries and representatives of international financial institutions, said Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economic Development.

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev who is a Governeor of the Board led a delegation to the meeting.

The meeting was followed by an investment conference.
The Azerbaijan-related part of the conference was attended by the IDB Group President Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, member country representatives and businesspeople.

Shahin Mustafayev briefed the participants about his country’s economic performance, cooperation with international financial institutions and business opportunities.

As a part of the conference, presentations of Azerbaijan’s investment environment, Azerbaijan Investment Company (AIC) and Caspian Investment Company were held.

Azerbaijan has taken over the presidency of the IDB Board of Governors from Turkmenistan.
The 35th annual meeting will take place in Baku on June 23-24, 2010.
