Azeri banks charge individuals much higher interest on loans

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. As of April 1, the average interest rate on national-currency loans lent by Azerbaijan-based commercial banks dropped by 1.64% year-on-year to 16.25%, said the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

According to the report, average interest rates fell by 2.58 percentage points to 13.43% for legal entities and increased 0.1 percentage points to 21.06% for individuals.

The average interest rate for foreign-currency loans rose by 0.37 percentage points to 16.98% (15.05% for legal entities and 20.27% for individuals).
