"It is very important to hold the World Championship before the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games, because the selection of referees will take place after the competition in Baku," said Mohamed Shaaban, technical delegate of the World Taekwondo Federation at press conference on the final preparations for the World Championship to be held in Baku.
He stressed that holding the World Championship in Azerbaijan is an excellent thing. According to him, special attention and care is paid to sports in Azerbaijan: "We have reviewed everything. Preparations are going as planned".
“I believe that there will be new names in the World Championship. I believe that it will be a memorable World Championship for Azerbaijan fans in 7 days and they will come and enjoy the competition,” he added.
