Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler Haji Aliyev became the European champion for the fourth time, APA reports.
H. Aliyev (70 kg) won the Italian Gianluca Talamo in the qualifying round with a complete advantage - 12:1. Our wrestler triumphed 4:0 over German Kevin Henkel in the quarterfinals. The national team captain advanced to the European Championship final for the fifth time after defeating Moldovan Vasile Diako 4:1 in the semi-finals.
Haji Aliyev won the final match against Bulgarian Ramazan Ramazanov 10:3 to become a four-time European champion. Our wrestler is also a three-time world champion.
Notably, earlier, our other wrestler Aliabbas Rzazadeh (57 kg) won a gold medal at the European Championship.
