Azerbaijani taekwondo fighter wins world bronze in China -UPDATED

Gashim Magomedov, a member of the Sports and Health Club of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Azerbaijani national team, achieved high results at the world championship held in Wuxi, China, APA reports, citing the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

In the championship, which was attended by about 1,000 athletes from more than 100 different countries, Gashim Magomedov won the bronze medal of the honorary podium in the 58 kg weight category, defeating athletes from India, Uzbekistan, Serbia, and Türkiye. The winner was presented with a medal and a diploma. The championship will conclude on October 30.

Note that Gashim Magomedov won the silver medal of the Olympic Games in the 58 kg weight category at the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris, France.

Azerbaijani fighter Gashim Magomedov captured a bronze medal at the 2025 World Taekwondo Championships in Wuxi, China, APA reports.

He secured the medal in the men’s 58kg weight division.

The Wuxi 2025 World Taekwondo Championships set a record with the participation of 991 athletes from 179 countries. Azerbaijan is represented by nine fighters.
