Azerbaijani boxer Murad Allahverdiyev (80 kg) entered the semi-final fight at the III European Games held in Poland, APASport reports.
The athlete who secured the license for the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games challenged Gabriel Veocic (Croatia) on the way to the final.
Allahverdiyev, who eliminated Kevin Schumann (Germany), Nikita Nijsted (Finland) and Hambardzum Hakobyan (Armenia) in a row, lost this time. The opponent won 5:0 (30:27, 29:28, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27) and Azerbaijani boxer concluded the European Games with a bronze medal.
Note that today one more of Azerbaijani boxers will participate in the semi-final match. Mahammad Abdullayev (+92 kg) will face Nelvi Ram Tiafak (Germany).
