World’s largest aircraft catches fire at Leipzig airport

Baku – APA. One of the engines of the world’s largest An- 225 “Mriya” cargo aircraft has caught fire at Leipzig airport, Germany.

 

APA reports quoting sachsen-fernsehen.de website that nine fire extinguisher staff were involved. The fire was extinguished within 15 minutes.

 

The aircraft was on a flight schedule to Chile.

 

The aircraft, designed in the Soviet Union in the 1980s, is both the longest and heaviest ever built.
