The prime minister said the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources is working to eliminate the consequences of the crisis.
“There is no problem with energy supply. We think there is a problem connection lines. All possibilities, including terror, are being investigated,” he said, adding that information on the matter will be updated each hour.
Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said the problem may have been caused by different reasons.
“Details will be investigated. The most important issue right now is to restore the network. And this is not something commonplace. Accidents have increased since the power failure, while time is running out. The failure may have been caused by power lines. We are following the process closely,” he said.
Note that, power supply to entire Turkey, including major cities like Istanbul and Ankara, was cut off today at 10:36 local time. Termination of subway, tram and medical services have seriously affected the lives of the population. About half an hour later, power was supply was restored in some places. In 15 percent territories of Ankara and Istanbul, and even at the Turkish Parliament, power supply was restored.
