Steps to be taken by Turkey regarding Syria discussed in the presence of Erdogan

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. Events in Syria and steps to be taken by Turkey were discussed at Syria summit with the participation of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara yesterday. APA reports quoting Turkey’s Milliyet newspaper that clashes between PYD organization that is close to PKK and Al Nusra Front in the north of Syria, tension on Turkish border and possibility of establishing an autonomous Kurdish administration in the region were also discussed at the meeting attended by Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Ministers, Head of Turkish National Intelligence Organization, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and leadership of Turkey's armed forces.

All steps including military measures were discussed at the three-hour meeting. Information about the situation of military units on Syrian border and briefing on measures to combat border violations were given at the meeting.

Issues on buffer zone and no-fly zone were also discussed. Turkish Grand National Assembly’s extending by one more year the term of decision that allows the Turkish government to send soldiers to Syria was on the agenda as well.
