Two metro lines in the Spanish capital Madrid were suspended after gunfire was heard, police said Thursday, APA reported citing Daily Sabah.
According to reports, police teams were dispatched to the scene of the incident and the metro lines were suspended as a precaution against a potential terror attack.
Photos shared on social media show passengers kneeling down to protect themselves.
In August, 14 people were killed and more than 100 others were injured when a van plowed into a crowd in central Barcelona. Daesh terrorists later claimed responsibility for the deadly attack, which prompted Spanish authorities to take stricter measures.
