Baku-APA. Egypt's newly-appointed Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy made a phone call to his German counterpart Guido Westerwelle on Saturday, during which the latter expressed his country's wish for the success of the transitional stage in Egypt, APA reports quoting state-run news agency MENA.
"The German foreign minister expressed his country's appreciation of its traditional close bilateral relations with Egypt and his wish for the success of the country's transitional stage," MENA quoted the foreign ministry's spokesman as saying.
Fahmy briefed Westerwelle on the recent development following the formation of Egypt's transitional government and the announcement of a presidential decree to form a committee for amendment of the suspended constitution.
The spokesman added that Fahmy reaffirmed the government's commitment to the timetable of the roadmap for Egypt following the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi earlier this month.
