The crash happened on the road to Kukes, 180 km northeast of the Tirana, capital of Albania. Police said three people died immediately and three others perished at a hospital, seven passengers were injured, four of them had life-threatening injuries.
The wounded were taken by helicopter to a Military Hospital in Tirana.
A witness working in a hydropower station nearby the site of accident told Xinhua that the vehicle came out of the road and plunged down an abyss, crashing through the rocks several times on the rugged terrain.
According to initial reports, frost on the road and overspeed were believed to have been the main causes.
Minister of Health Ilir Beqaj has arrived in Kukes. He expressed his condolences to the relatives of the victims. and promised to provide all the necessary help to alleviate their pain.
