Ukraine' s Air Force26 kamikaze drones destroyed overnight in the south

"In the south of Ukraine, 26 Shahid-136 kamikaze drones were destroyed overnight, and information about the morning attack on Kyiv is being clarified," said a spokesman of the Air Force Command," Yuriy Ignat, on the air of the national telethon on October 17, APA reports citing Ukrayinskaya Pravda.

“Yesterday, we reported about 11 kamikaze drones destroyed in this direction. From 3:30 to 7 in the morning, another 15 of these drones were destroyed. So, we have 26 destroyed Shahed-136s in the area of responsibility of the Southern Air Command. There they were involved in mainly anti-aircraft missile units, but there was also the work of fighters,” he noted.

In general, according to PC “South,” since the beginning of the enemy’s use of Shahed-136, 100 of them have already been destroyed in the southern direction, Ignat said.

According to the assessment of the Air Force, 75% of such kamikaze drones are shot down by the Ukrainian military.

Ignat said that he currently has no detailed information regarding the ongoing attack on the capital.
