The 41st session of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe has started in Strasbourg, France, APA reports.
The session is being held for the first time in a pandemic situation with the personal participation of representatives.
The main topics of discussion at the session, which will end on October 28, are development, migration, diaspora and regional issues in the post-pandemic period.
The keynote speaker on post-pandemic development is Ulrik Westergard Knudsen, Deputy Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Development and Cooperation. On other topics, special rapporteurs will present reports. Representatives of law enforcement agencies of several European countries were also invited to the event.
The agenda of the session also includes the adoption of reports on five countries - Albania, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Northern Macedonia and Spain.
