Russian guided bomb attack on Sumy injures two, damages civilian infrastructure

Russian forces carried out overnight airstrikes on the northeastern Ukrainian city of Sumy using guided aerial bombs (GABs), damaging civilian infrastructure and injuring at least two people.

According to local authorities, four guided bomb strikes hit the city, damaging multi-story residential buildings, non-residential facilities, and infrastructure. Hundreds of windows were also shattered in the blasts.

Officials said the attacks targeted a shopping center and other civilian sites in Sumy's Kovpakivskyi district, with several shops sustaining damage.

Preliminary reports indicate that at least two people were injured in the attack and are receiving medical treatment.

Emergency services are continuing efforts to deal with the aftermath of the strikes and assess the full extent of the damage.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing Oleg Grigorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, and Sergey Krivosheenko, head of the Sumy City Military Administration.

According to initial information, at least two people were injured in the attack. The injured are receiving medical assistance.

 

Work is continuing to eliminate the consequences of the incident.
