World Bank: Gold fell 3.7%, silver nearly 12% in July

A monthly decline in precious metals prices was recorded on international markets in July 2026. Nevertheless, prices for both gold and silver remained at high levels compared to the corresponding period last year, APA-Economics reports, citing the World Bank's monthly commodity markets report.

The average price of gold in July stood at $4,073 per troy ounce, down 3.7% compared to June. The average price of silver fell to $58.8 per troy ounce, marking a 11.8% monthly decline.

At the same time, the average price of gold in the second quarter of 2026 reached $4,512 per troy ounce, which is 37% higher than in the same period of 2025. The average price of silver rose to $73.5 per troy ounce, up 118.1% compared to the corresponding period last year.

According to the World Bank, the upward tendency in precious metals prices also continued in 2025. The average annual price of gold reached $3,442, up 44.1% compared to 2024. The average annual price of silver stood at $39.8, which is 40.6% higher than the previous year.
