"Russia does not want a war, so it has made security proposals," Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, APA reports quoting RIA Novosti.
Putin called attempts to suspend Russia's military power a direct threat to its national security.
He accused the United States and NATO of interpreting security principles in their own way.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stressed the importance of de-escalating tensions around Ukraine and that the war should never start in any way.
Scholz added that the war would lead to serious geopolitical consequences for Russia.
