More than 25,000 Ukrainian military personnel have undergone training in Germany since October 2022, according to a Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) spokesperson, APA reports citing DPA news agency.
According to him, over 100 training missions have been conducted at nearly 50 training centers as part of the EU-led training mission (EUMAM). Currently, the Bundeswehr is training Ukrainians to operate Leopard 1A5 main battle tanks and Biber armored bridgelayers at a military training ground in Saxony-Anhalt.
The training of Ukrainian troops arriving in Germany is coordinated by the Multinational Special Training Command (STC). Through direct interaction with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, current needs are identified, which are then used to analyze, plan, and implement the training process, according to DPA.
