Baku-APA. French nuclear reactor producer Areva said one was killed and 14 wounded after a car bombing struck its plant in northern Niger on early Thursday morning, APA reports.
"AREVA has learned with the deepest emotion of the death of one of the injured victims during the attack on the site of Somair" at Arlit, the French nuclear company said in the statement, while confirming that 14 people were wounded.
In an early statement, Areva strongly condemned terrorist attack targeted its Somair mine that left 13 of its staff wounded.
Attacks occurred at around 5:30 local time (0400GMT) on Thursday morning when two car bombings erupted at an Areva's uranium site at Arlit and a military camp in Agadez, the largest city in northern Niger.
The two bombings killed dozens people and wounded many more others, including those staffs from Areva at Somair uranium mine.
One of the car bombing was claimed by an Islamist extremist group as revenge for France-led military intervention in fighting against al-Qaeda-linked groups in Mali.
French foreign ministry "condemns these attacks in the strongest terms," said Philippe Lalliot, spokesman of the ministry, while expressing France's "condolences to the families of the deceased."
The French diplomat said France is closely following the situation and keeping in contact with Nigerien authorities.
