German Chancellor Friedrich Merz called on the United States and Israel to develop a strategy to end the conflict with Iran and again warned of the danger of destroying the Islamic Republic's statehood, APA reports.

During a visit to Norway, he stated that "every day of the war raises more questions than it answers." "First of all, it's becoming increasingly clear that a compelling plan is needed. A strategy is needed to end this war," the DPA news agency quoted him as saying.

"We have no interest in an endless war," the chancellor asserted. "The destruction of Iran's territorial integrity, statehood, and economic viability would have the most serious consequences for us as well," he pointed out.

At the same time, Merz again condemned Iran's strikes on targets in neighboring countries in response to US and Israeli attacks, as well as warnings about the potential closure of the Strait of Hormuz. "We condemn this in the strongest possible terms," he said.
