According to claims, Georgia's former Prime Minister and current chairman of the Georgian Dream party, Irakli Garibashvili, has been admitted to the American hospital in Tbilisi with serious injuries, according to Georgia's Mtavari TV channel, APA reports.
According to the channel, there are reports of a physical altercation within the Georgian Dream party. The TV channel also aired comments from Giorgi Bachiashvili, former chairman of Bidzina Ivanishvili's co-investment fund, stating that Garibashvili is currently in the hospital's traumatology department.
In response, the ruling party commented that the former Prime Minister's hospitalization was due to a sports injury rather than any confrontation.
The ruling party dismissed the reports as disinformation and urged the public to disregard such false claims.
"Frankly, this is yet another instance of disinformation and a petty attempt to mislead the public. To clarify, the chairman of Georgian Dream sustained a shoulder injury during a workout and required some medical assistance. Irakli Garibashvili continues his activities. We call on the public to disregard these lies," said a statement from Georgian Dream.
