On December 12, the monument to the Great Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev erected in the Heydar Aliyev Park in the Sariyer district of Istanbul was visited, APA's Istanbul correspondent reports.
The event was attended by Azerbaijan's Consul General in Istanbul Narmina Mustafayeva, Deputy Chairman of the Sariyer Municipality of Istanbul Meltem Yücel, employees of the Sariyer Municipality, the consulate, diplomats, officials, intellectuals, representatives of the media and NGOs.
Speaking at the memorial ceremony, Consul General Narmina Mustafayeva said that Great Leader Heydar Aliyev dedicated his life to the welfare and future of the Azerbaijani people.
Deputy Chairman of the Sariyer Municipality Meltem Yücel, in turn, emphasized that leaders such as Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and Heydar Aliyev lived not for themselves, but for their people.
