Germany is avoiding its obligations to participate in the military contingent to be deployed in Ukraine, APA reports, citing "Spiegel" publication.
According to the publication, within the framework of discussions on security guarantees for Ukraine after the potential end of the active phase of the war, Germany has proposed strengthening Ukraine's air defense systems and increasing other capabilities of the army as its main contribution, but the Bundeswehr (German army) is avoiding its obligations to participate in the military contingent.
The article says that during the meeting of the "Coalition of the Willing" held in Paris, Berlin proposed increasing Ukraine's air defense capabilities as its main contribution. According to the plan, support in this area is expected to increase by 20% per year.
Germany is also ready to arm four mechanized brigades. This implies the provision of approximately 480 armored personnel carriers and other infantry fighting vehicles per year.
According to Berlin's view, the next components of security guarantees are the continuation of the training of Ukrainian military personnel and the deepening of cooperation between the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex and partner countries.
