Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye and Bulgaria are holding talks on the creation of an overland electricity transit corridor, Georgia's Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Inga Pkhaladze said, APA's local bureau reports.
According to her, the new initiative will ensure the delivery of electricity from any interested country, primarily neighboring countries, to Europe via Georgia.
“This is a very important and interesting initiative from an economic point of view, as, along with transit, Georgia will also export its own electricity, which, in turn, will support local businesses and the high-level development of the energy sector in the country,” the deputy minister added.
