Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili commented on the European Union's (EU) freezing of military financial aid to Georgia, APA's Tbilisi correspondent reports.
It was reported that Darchiashvili said that Georgia's security challenges and the problem of occupation remain, and that such assistance serves to strengthen the country's defense capabilities.

He added that such decisions will not hinder Georgia's EU integration efforts:

"Georgia needs to strengthen its defense capabilities so that we can fight more threats. We will continue cooperation with the EU in this direction. In general, the cooperation between Georgia and the EU is based on the association agreement. We have all taken our responsibilities and are consistently fulfilling them."

Note that the EU has frozen EUR 30 million intended for the Georgian Defense Forces in response to the adoption of the "foreign agents" law.
