The Prime Minister of Georgia has confirmed the government's intention to amend the "foreign agents" law, APA's Tbilisi correspondent reports.

Kobakhidze, after a meeting with Alain Berset, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, stated in a press conference that the government is always open to discussions regarding the draft law.

"We discussed legislation, including the 'Transparency' law. We once again declared that we are open to discussions. We have stated that we are open to discussions both during the law's adoption process and even after its adoption. We reiterate that if anyone proves to us that there is something negative in this law, we are certainly ready to discuss these issues and cooperate with the relevant bodies of the Council of Europe," Kobakhidze said.

"The Georgian government has promised to change the content of its law on "Transparency of Foreign Influence"," Council of Europe Secretary General Alain Berset said at a press conference in Tbilisi, APA's Tbilisi correspondent reports.

According to him, a working group will be established to amend the law.

"The government has promised to change the content of the law on "Transparency of Foreign Influence". A working group will be created from representatives of Georgia and the Council of Europe, including the Venice Commission, and it will be determined what changes should be made to the legislation," Alain Berset said.
