“Brussels must return to its core European values and refrain from encouraging violence as a tool to achieve political objectives,” the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, wrote on his Facebook account, APA’s local bureau reports.
According to him, the meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council held in Luxembourg the previous day was another missed opportunity for European commissioners and ministers to condemn the violent intrusion into the Georgian President’s palace on October 4.
“Instead, we heard yet another attack against the Georgian people through the use of false narratives. Hiding the perpetrators means justifying violence, and justifying violence is an encouragement of further violence,” the Speaker wrote.
