Aleko Eliashvili, one of the leaders of the opposition "Strong Georgia" coalition, accused of attempting to commit terrorism, has been remanded in custody, APA's local bureau reports.
The verdict was announced by the Tbilisi City Court.
Although the defense requested a bail of 5,000 GEL for the politician, the court granted the prosecution's request.
Recall that Eliashvili attempted to set fire to the office building of the Tbilisi City Court on November 29. If proven guilty, the oppositionist could face 10 to 15 years in prison.
