The United States has not yet fully formed its policy toward Georgia, Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Bochorishvili said in an interview with “First Channel,” APA's local bureau reports.
According to her, the U.S. participates in important processes and deals with global problems that require a great deal of energy, effort, and time.
“We see that Georgia does not occupy such an important place on the U.S. agenda. Georgia is striving to establish concrete, substantive strategic relations with the U.S., and this is the subject of the dialogue,” the minister added.
Bochorishvili expressed hope that the reestablishment of Georgia–U.S. relations will at some stage be on the agenda and that a positive decision will be reached.
Note that the United States suspended its strategic partnership with Georgia, established in 2009, on November 30 of last year. Washington made this decision after the Georgian government announced that negotiations on EU membership would not be brought to the agenda until 2028.
